So I wanted to share a resource that is not so well known, or not so easily found on the Internet through Google searches. There is a small community of blind and visually impaired people who join groups on WhatsApp to learn more about music and audio production. If you’re interested in ProTools, reaper or logic, you have found the right place. I am an admin for some of the WhatsApp groups that exist and can invite you into them if you are interested. If you go to the top of my webpage stevebaskis.com and find the menu link contact, you will be presented with a contact form where you can personally reach out to me. All I need from you is your name, phone number and email address, then I can add you to the WhatsApp group where you can start learning from others who have a passion and love for making audio or music.
In these groups you will find professionals and advanced users who can answer your questions or point you in the right direction. We also have community dropbox folders that provide manuals, demonstration‘s and equipment/hardware layouts to better understand your software/technology.
One thing to note is, you don’t have to be a professional audio engineer or recording engineer to take advantage of these social media groups. If you are just a hobbyist or enthusiast, you can gain a lot from listening in and taking notes from others. I welcome you to the groups and wish you the best of luck in your endeavor to create audio content for the world.
